Facebook - You live in side of it?

Facebook is one of the most popular websites in the world.

It is a website where you can find just about anyone or any cool product or business. I joined exactly a year ago and I’m amazed the people I’ve found - or that have found me.

It is another social networking ( a connector) site that brings folks together. Facebook is set up in a way that you can be very private or very public. It is a wonderful site to find out information on old classmates and friends, along with local social functions, and online events.  A large power of facebook is the set of tools that can take your brand or business and push it to the pages of thousands.

If you start a facebook page that is centered on your business and have success with using some of the tools facebook provides you will increase your visibility!  (I’ll touch more on personal v. business uses in Facebook shortly). Tools such as applications, groups, advertising, and polls are there to assist you in reach. I think that is what facebook ends up being about in the end is reach. You connect, but through the word of mouth and Kevin Bacon 7 degrees of separation kind of phenomenon , your words, narrative, business, blog, etc have REACH.

A good way to start facebook is on a personal level. It is an easy platform to learn.

Go reach out to that old college friend and get a chance to see his or her new baby on the photo page. Get back in touch with your High School alumni group and make a date for the next reunion. Look up that mentor from your youth. Find a charity or a group in your town to volunteer.

Reach out your hand to facebook. It is not scary. It is a good thing. Reach.
