Now that you have discovered blogs (like how did we ever fill our time before?) you may like to know a ridiculously simple way of accessing all of your favorite daily reads. It can be time consuming and not to mention hard to remember all of the blog addresses for your daily perusal right? Why not capture them all in one easy format? Google Reader is another brilliant component of the Google empire. Reader will bring you all of your daily reads without you worrying if you have missed something. Reader is like your own personal inbox for the entire web. Yeah, the whole thing. You just decide what you want to come to you! It’s like pretty mind blowing when you realize you never have to go checking back ten times to your favorite site or blog. It comes to you.
Now having said all of this, I drafted this post about 2 months ago. Since then, I keep forgetting I have this great list of blogs feeding my reader (just being honest). I have a good friend that likes everything coming to his email inbox, but he doesn’t get the 150 emails a day that I do…all of which require some sort of thoughtful response or action. I thought separating out the stuff I wanted to READ from the stuff I needed TO DO would be helpful. I’m still a believer, but let’s say I’m just still working on being a practicing believer.
Note: Google reader requires a gmail account, but there are other subscription services like bloglines, my yahoo, newsgator, and others that may work for you.
Another note: just because you open a gmail account to subscribe to reader or any of the other good stuffs within Google does not mean you have to TELL anyone you have a new email account. In case you were worried about having too many emails out there. Just saying.
If you subscribe to blogs, do they come to your inbox or reader?
